Panks / Hanson Re-cycle Lagoon Water resource
Hanson Building Products U.K is the largest producer of clay bricks in the U.K. The bricks produced are supplied to Builders Merchants, Builders and Building Contractors and are the main supply for extensions, conservatories and repair work. It is estimated that Hanson's bricks have been used to build 25% of Britain's housing stock.The London brick brand (or Fletton brick), in particular has a heritage unsurpassed by any other brick company and finds its home at Whittlesey, Peterborough, Kings Dyke works!
Panks Pumps were proud to be involved in part of a multi-million pound scheme to re-cycle lagoon water on the site for the purpose of brick washing which had been previously performed by a mains water supply.
Gennaro Poli of Panks said "this proved to be a great opportunity for us to display our full range of skills from design to commissioning whilst making a significant contribution to water savings on this site."
The recycling scheme involved over a kilometer of MDPE pipe, several pumping systems/storage & filtration as well as a U.V disinfection system all supplied fitted and commissioned by Panks pumps. The association with a long standing Peterborough company such as Hanson Brick and the new branch of Panks pumps in Peterborough was a positive welcome into the area as the Panks family have been trading in East Anglia for over 160 years and offer specialist knowledge and expertise in the pumping sectors covering both waste and clean water applications whilst providing a complete service from supply to commissioning.
