adoptable pumping stations
Working to the “Sewers for Adoption Guidelines” and in conjunction with a primary civil contractor or housing developer Panks provide design, delivery and adoption expertise.
Our extensive work directly for the local Water Authorities offers an insight into the requirements expected within the engineering offices tasked with adopting the pumping station.
Panks aim is to assist the principal contractor during each phase of the adoptable process, providing a complete mechanical and electrical service.
The Adoptable Process
Approval Submission
We provide assistance to the developer in preparing drawings for submission and approval.
Hydraulic calculations, a rising main system curve and technical specifications of pumps, panels and plant are also developed as part of the approval documentation.
Construction
Significant effort to provide to our client clear yet flexible project time scales and integration planning are made to ensure the minimum amount of inconvenience to the development is experienced.
Acceptance
Panks at the developer’s request will liaise with the adopting authority’s nominated engineer, supporting the developer to ensure the acceptance process is completed swiftly and without unnecessary delay. Commissioning, flow testing and electrical certification are all provided; coordination with the Water Authorities telemetry engineers is also a provision covered within our service.
Fixed Maintenance Period
Under the terms of the contract the developer has with the Water Authority, the developer is obliged to provide maintenance cover for a period of a year after final acceptance; we traditionally also provide this service under a separate contract with the client.
